SHOULD WE HAVE A NEW FORM OF LEAVE FROM WORK ... THE 'HONEDAY' IN HONOUR OF MAORI PARTY MP HONE HARAWIRA?
A 'holiday' is when you apply for annual leave from your employer to spend time away from your workplace, at your own expense.
A 'Honeday' would, as has been defined by the behaviour of Hone Harawira, be a period where you ignore your work responsibilities while overseas and take off to check out tourist destinations at the governments expense, without informing your employer, then you're required to write a racist email to justify your 'honeday'.
When Hone Harawira becomes an independant MP, which is imminent, he will surely put forward the 'Honeday' Bill to amend the Holidays Act 2003.
As Hone has stated he has plenty of support in his electorate for his actions ... and who wouldn't support having a 'Honeday' every day at your employers expense.
My only objection is that we as taxpayers paid for him to return to the country, and I'd like an inquiry into how he managed to be allowed to set foot back in NZ, and who paid for his ticket.
