National Government Successfully Holding Back Recession in NZ : February 2009
In the 3 months since National were elected to govern this country the rapid pace of reform has been incredible, with the 'recession beating' 90-day probationary period added to employment law, allowing employers to take the risk of employing those who would otherwise be shunned by wary employers, and a raft of other initiatives, this government has really hit the ground running.
I am most impressed, and the promised 100 day plan is rocketing ahead with a greater success than could have been imagined. When we examine the US situation, with 600,000 job losses in January 2009 alone, considering their population of 306million (2009) and New Zealands of 4million (2009), being 1.3%, this would indicate a theoretical equivalent in job losses to be 7843 in January 2009. NZ however has suffered barely a fraction of that figure, thanks primarily to the inspirational leadership of PM John Key.
Even with a broken arm suffered on 17 January he is leading us forward to a brighter future.
I see the cast has sold on Trademe for just under $20,000, and his generous donation will be much appreciated by the Fred Hollows Foundation, performing operations in the Pacific Islands to restore sight. You could say that John Key gave his right arm (cast) such that the blind could see.
