Lower weatherboards (pale yellow) on the south side of the house (more obvious in photo on lower right) have been replaced where these were rotten. Additional 2 weatherboards added around the perimeter to visually lower the house, where the slope of the section meant the western side was almost 1m above ground. It also means less air movement under the house through baseboards. They're intended to allow the house to 'breathe' but prefer to minimise loss of heat from the underside.
